New Years Resolutions and other aimless ramblings

So, one of my New Year's resolutions is to update my blog more often. After all, I've spent many a rainy or snowy evening perusing the old, angst-riddled Xanga posts from my youth ("youth" = high school) and I would like to one day be able to look back fondly on this time of my life. After all, why wouldn't I? I've got a lof of stuff going on. I have a job for which I am grossly overqualified and underpaid, am a veritable 27 year-old spinster (holla!), have a one-eyed cat that occasionally likes me, and family that makes damn sure to keep my self-esteem in check. I also have a really nice camera and only two wisdom teeth.

But the dawning of a new year is a time to formulate all of the infinite and unrealistic hopes and dreams that I have for the next 365 days. So, without further ado:

Get a job that can be a career - one that not only utilizes my education, but offers excellent growth potential as well
Make more time for good friends Danielle, Ashleigh, Crystal, Tara, and Jessica
Ensnare the man of my dreams (Ha!)
Lose 30 pounds
Do something epic (see Niagara Falls, stand on the edge of the Grand Canyon, etc.)

So, they're simple wishes, but what can I say, I'm a simple kind of woman. That and I don't want to get too crazy this year - I hear 2012 is going to be pretty amazing. A little Mayan told me.
