This morning, I was greeted by Roger gently knocking on my door. My first thought was that it was nice to see a friendly face... a rather absurd thought considering that I know pretty much everyone working on this unit. Sleepy Kristen is definitely not the brightest bulb in the box, ok?
The pulmonologist is going to do an experimental new form of virtual bronchoscopy, he tells me. Very skilled. Shouldn't feel a thing.
In addition to the lung mass, he tells me that I also have a severe form of double pneumonia for which I will now be recieving a hardcore round of antibiotics. Yay. He tells me that he's written an order for a PICC line to make me more comfortable and my arms a little less junkie-esque. Yay.
So my first batch of levaquin is hanging and I'm once again tethered to the bed for another hour or so. I can only take so much television and internet... I'm going gaga sitting here in this little room. Luckily, I've had several visitors to pass the time with.
What's better than being where you work around people you're always working with? Doing so in a backless gown with no makeup on. Good times!
Check it out, y'all! This is the beast I've got to take down - it's the giant gray thing with the arrow pointing to it. Not so intimidating, right?!
The other gray thing is my heart. Doc explained to me that my fainting spell a couple of weeks ago was likely because I got my heart rate up and, that coupled with the low blood pressure caused by this beast pressing against my heart, caused me to wipe out in the radiology hallway.
Mystery solved!
